The Snapshot news area for Westcott Photographs has been updated to include lots of new features.
An archive has been created to store photographs that have been on display for some time. This allows for newer photographs to be on display on the main page.
An album has been created for the Yellowstone National Park trip of August 2009. The park was excellent. We drove 2700 miles round trip, and as you can see in the photographs, we had excellent weather and saw quite a bit of wildlife. There were, of course, the occasional “bear jam” or “bison jam”, but in general we were able to move around the park with no problems.
Yellowstone in August for wildflowers was amazing. It looked like the entire meadows and valleys were in bloom. Because there were so many and I couldn’t resist taking a few photographs. I made a separate album for the wildflower photographs.
Added a new album for fireworks photographs. July 4th 2009 was a very successful evening to view the fireworks in Livermore, CA.
Three new flower photographs taken along Monterey Bay are now in the flower album. Weather was overcast and windy, but the sun kept trying to peek through the clouds.
We spotted several Humpback whales feeding off the Monterey Bay about 2 miles out into the Pacific Ocean. Later in the afternoon we saw a pod of Gray Whales migrating from the Mexician coast heading up to the Gulf of Alaska for the summer. Three other wildlife photographs have been added to the wildlife album.
Visited the Niles Canyon Railroad which runs Christmas trains between Sunol and Niles. Old restored city buses are used to ferry passengers from the city to the train station. Photographs can be viewed in the California Album.
